About Dr. Pehling
Residency- and fellowship-trained in TMJ, orofacial pain disorders, and dental sleep medicine, Jason Pehling, DDS, MS, has a dental practice limited to the treatment of TMD, facial pain and dental sleep medicine at the TMJ Orofacial Disorders Center in Seattle. He specializes in temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), orofacial pain, and dental sleep medicine.
Dr. Pehling is a Northwest native and attended the Bellevue Christian School where he was a two-time state wrestling champion. Dr. Pehling obtained an athletic scholarship and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon. Additionally he received a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the prestigious University of California, San Francisco. Following that, he completed a Master of Science, an NIH sponsored Postdoctoral Pain Fellowship, and a residency in TMJ and orofacial pain from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Pehling is board-certified by the American Board of Craniofacial Pain and the American Board of Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Pehling is a featured expert in the local and national media. Dr. Pehling was the first dentist in the Northwest trained in the use of the Biomet Ultrathin TMJ Arthroscope and the use of Botox® injections for the treatment of bruxism and jaw and facial pain. In his over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Pehling has placed over 6000 functional oral appliances.
Dr. Pehling has had numerous publications, research grants and awards, including multiple years as the Best Dentist Seattle Magazine Award, and the Best Dentist Seattle Metropolitan Magazine Award.
Active in his field, Dr. Pehling is a fellow of several prestigious organizations, such as the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. He is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, the Washington Dental Association, and the Seattle-King County Dental Association. He is on the board of Directors for theAmerican Board of Craniofacial Pain.
Away from the dental office, Dr. Pehling enjoys active outdoor activities with his family, such as stand-up paddle boarding, waterskiing, snow skiing, and mountaineering.
